James McMullen died at his home five miles north of Mansfield, December 28, from a complication of ailments.  He was born near Sheperdstown, Pa., in 1830, moved to Indiana in 1855, where he resided until 1866, when he moved back to Ohio, locating near Smithville, Wayne County.  In 1872, he moved to Richland County, where he resided at the time of his death.  He united with the Dunkard Church when about 23 years of age, and preached for that denomination ever since and was one of its most earnest and sincere advocates.  He was married Jan. 12, 1850 to Miss Ann B. Walsh, was the father of nine children and leaves a wife and six children to mourn his death.  His age was 65 years, 9 months and 27 days.  In his death, the family has lost a kind husband and father, and the community one of its best and highly esteemed citizens.  The funeral will be held Dec. 31 from the family residence at 10 o'clock.  Services will be held at the Dunkard church, interment at the Dunkard Cemetery.
